Tsavo East National Park is located in southern Kenya and forms part of the vast Tsavo ecosystem. Positioned to the west of the Nairobi Mombasa highway, the park derives its name from its geographical location. It is among the largest national parks in the country, spanning an impressive area of approximately 9,065 square kilometers.
The park boasts an incredibly diverse landscape, from sweeping open grasslands and scattered acacia woodlands to rugged volcanic hills. It is also home to the striking Chyulu Hills and the dramatic Shetani Lava Flow, which add to its unique scenery.
Wildlife is abundant, with the renowned Big Five including lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, and rhinoceroses roaming the park. Visitors can also encounter giraffes, zebras, hippos, cheetahs, African wild dogs, and a remarkable variety of bird species, making it a prime destination for unforgettable safari experiences.
