Flamingo Magic: One Day, A Million Wings
Description
LAKE NAKURU DAY TRIP
This short bush safari from Nairobi allows you to explore one of Kenya’s most remarkable national parks — Lake Nakuru National Park. It is an ideal destination for visitors with limited time who want to experience Kenya’s stunning wildlife and natural beauty.
Proposed Itinerary
You will be picked up early in the morning from your hotel in Nairobi or the airport and depart for Nakuru. Along the way, enjoy a brief stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for breathtaking scenery and memorable photos.
Lake Nakuru National Park, established in 1961 around Lake Nakuru near Nakuru Town, is famously known for its spectacular flocks of pink flamingos that gather along the lakeshore. At times, thousands — even millions — of flamingos cover the shallow lake, creating a stunning pink landscape. The number of flamingos depends on water levels and food availability, and the best viewing point is Baboon Cliff.
Upon arrival, you will begin an exciting game drive where you may spot large herds of waterbucks, warthogs, impalas, buffaloes, various plains game, cheetahs, and rhinos. The park is also recognized as one of Kenya’s rhino sanctuaries, making it an important conservation area.
After lunch (at your own expense), continue with an en-route game drive as you depart back to Nairobi. You will arrive in the evening with drop-off at your original pickup point, marking the end of the trip.
